LAWS OF LIES: Use Statistics to lie

We have been confronted by lies quite often. "No mummy",said Chintu with a dry voice"I didn't eat the sweets kept in the refrigerator,it must have been kuku." "Kuku,did you do it",asked the virtuous mother with a stern voice."No mummy it is Chintu,see you can see the stains on his shirt",replied kuku afraid that the blame would come to him."Anyways who ever has eaten it,and Chintu it is probably you,but I just want to say that next time ask before you eat them.Why is there a need to steal",said the mother with a sermon."Yes mummy I will keep in mind",replied Chintu with a wink at Kuku and ran away.

Ah! If life could be sooooo simple. The lies so simple that it could be ignored. But alas! It is not so. Lies change a nations destiny and if there is anything true about this world it is that lies exist. From President Bush to the local vegetable vendor, all are used to it.
Chal bhai ho gaya lecture.So what do I intend to say.Don't say lies! Nah thats not a problem.Even if you never lie,the problem is you will always be confronted by them. And with advanced social Engineering in the art of lying,chances are,with a probability of 7:6(yes its greater than 1 don't smile) you will be thanking the lier for his lies.
One of the finest ways of lying that I have come across is to use statistics.But how statistics speak the truth isn't it.Of course not!
Statistics are mere numbers,they are figures representing facts.Thhey maybe true in the manifestation of themselves.But essentially they are neither true nor false.They are simply data."Oye Ravi dimaag ki watt na laga,seedhe seedhe bol bhai.kyon bacche ki jaan le raha hai",I know you all must be thinking this
Look at this data.India has large population and also a major part of world population(20% I don't know ).See its just a data.Now a few years back this data proved a bane for our country.But today it is a boon.We are amongst the biggest labour suppliers to the world market and Indians constitute as a major player in the service industry.This statistics which was wrongly used before is being rightly used now.

Now this finer example in a more closed scenario of our college life. This guy Mr. Genius. He logs in with this virtual name on www.dcetech.com . Now just read what he says on http://www.dcetech.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=55773#55773

"there are 13 ad columns on the front page, and only 7 posts (though that's the default on blogger; just curious"

He says nothing else and he leaves it there.
Here was my reply
"The act of telling a lie without getting caught.Well I hereby give the theme of my "The Blog" .see here for instance how you have to tell a lie.
The best way of telling a lie is to use statistics.They represent facts,but facts in terms of numbers. How you interepret this number is upto the reader.If the reader is intelligent enough he will decode it otherwise he will simply see one side of the coin.
Here Genius has given a statistic,that they are 7 postd on the blog only. What the reader shall interpret it as: that too few posts and too many ads. But if you see the other face of the coin,every post of mine is so long that it can be broken into 5 pieces and created as new 5 posts. So instead of improving the statistics I intended to improve the quality and content of my posts. So here it is. Next time don't get bogged down by statistics. Mr. Genius you are truely Genius.Maybe this could be the new theme for my new post."

There are many instances.Just think about it and you will get the answers. I just wanted to bring it to everyone's notice.
