Here I am sharing with you the essay that I had submitted in the contest. As a matter of fact only 2 Engineering students have been selected. The list would be given at the bottom.
My idea of sharing this is to encourage you people to participate in such things and look beyond the college learning. Some experiences are worth gaining. I hope you all understand.Participating in this contest has atleast vindicated my idea to be good with words thus if you too participate,it shall uncover your hidden talents.
Here is the essay
TOPIC:
Do high quality business schools provide nations with a competitive advantage?
The concept of schools imparting business education which is essentially learnt through variable experience is itself a revolutionary concept. Moreover the need of the corporate world that these schools fulfill and have been doing so for a couple of hundred years is amazing, not ignoring the fact that almost every country wih a proper functioning economy is very much focused on imparting business education through these schools.
India today is a rising nation economically. The economics of this country has undergone a sea change in the last decade or so.As the country progress towards its ancient status of being called ‘the ‘Golden Bird’ it has to face the upcoming complexity that would arise in today’s ways of doing business. As the world economy gets integrated like as if we were trading in a village, the concept though provokes a simplistic message is essentially a very complicated one behind this veil.Given the above mentioned facts the role of a business school becomes imperative so as to provide the necessary skills in this fast changing economic world. Business schools give the corporate a polished and finished gem which otherwise would take years to shine through the grinds of business experience. Also it prepares the cadre of business soldiers with the right dynamics to adjust swiftly in the overly volatile and changing economy. Not only that, the increased corporate and government sponsorship of projects in business schools suggest the important intellectual contribution that these schools give back in return. The Indian business scene ,which is very much dominated by family businesses have of sudden felt the tinge of shortened man power with an enterprising and entrepreneurial bent.Business schools, by making such a requisite curriculum can essentially fulfill this demand and have been doing so for a few years.India being a young player in this complicated world economy and thus for India to sustain its paced growth and to achieve a mammoth size, entrepreneurs who can deliver from the word ‘go’ are needed.Business schools not only help in educating such talents in its womb, but also teaching them the nitty gritty of business through case studies thus providing entrepreneurs with a manager’s bent of performance.
Business schools play a vital role by also providing requisite research and advisory services to pivotal bodies like the finance ministry and the planning commission. However of all the good endeavor that these schools take, a lot can be done especially with India as its focus. The economy of India is so regionally unbalanced that business school could help by taking initiatives keeping in focus the economically backward regions of the country.India being such a diverse country, if it would be possible that business education be brought to the grass root level so that MBAs who can work from that level are produced then I think nothing better could happen to India than this holistic growth pattern that it would follow rather progressing in such a way that the common Indian does not even feel the shine of the progress.
Thus Business Schools can play a vital role in changing the business scene of
